Description

Deliciously moist and easy banana chocolate chip bars that are perfect for snack or dessert!


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup mashed overripe bananas (about 2 large)
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).• Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar• Beat butter and brown sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients• Mix in egg, vanilla, and salt until combined.
  4. Add Flour• Mix flour in gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in Bananas and Chocolate• Fold mashed bananas into batter.• Stir in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
  6. Bake• Spread batter evenly in pan.• Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top.• Bake 33–37 minutes, rotating halfway.
  7. Cool and Slice• Cool completely before lifting from pan.• Slice into 16 bars using a warm knife.

Notes

  • Make sure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor.
