Deliciously moist and easy banana chocolate chip bars that are perfect for snack or dessert!
Ingredients

- ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon fine salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup mashed overripe bananas (about 2 large)
- ¾ cup chocolate chips, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).• Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- Cream Butter and Sugar• Beat butter and brown sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add Wet Ingredients• Mix in egg, vanilla, and salt until combined.
- Add Flour• Mix flour in gently until just combined.
- Fold in Bananas and Chocolate• Fold mashed bananas into batter.• Stir in chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Bake• Spread batter evenly in pan.• Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top.• Bake 33–37 minutes, rotating halfway.
- Cool and Slice• Cool completely before lifting from pan.• Slice into 16 bars using a warm knife.
Notes
- Make sure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor.
- These bars are great served warm or at room temperature.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
