- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup dried cherries (chopped if desired)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture while stirring gently to avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips and dried cherries until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden but center remains soft.
- Allow cooling completely before slicing into squares.
